Goodbye

School is only for the open minded and strong, the weak cannot survive. You may have learned about math, science, social studies, and language arts but only a handful of students actually learn lifelong lessons to be in a productive society. School holds many things in its classrooms and hallways. Having great teachers and mentors will benefit you in school. Their wisdom and knowledge will contribute to you in ways unimaginable. School can teach you plenty and these are a couple of the many of things I have learned. Fourth Grading Period is a tough one. But I'm glad that I surpassed all those obstacles that I encountered and I'm very happy because I learned so much and experienced many unforgettable moments that I will bring for the rest of my life. Moving on, I will use those struggles as my inspiration and motivation to keep on going and thrive harder. Moving up

As I venture outside the box, I don't think I expect that much. The people that I have been close with in this family have challenged me and molded me into who I am today. I hope that in the future, we will still be friends and may we never forget the memories that we have shared together.   I wish for the success of my colleagues. The future is very bright for us, so let us claim and fulfill our dreams. I see some future CPAs, MDs, ATTYs, COLs, and ENGRs among us. May we face the future with upmost confidence as we show the greatness we posse Everyone has dreams. Weather they be to become a scientist and discover new and amazing things, or become a star basketball player and be the highest paid player in the league, people dream about their future. I have dreams for the future just like everyone else. Dreams of the good life, with lots of money, hot girls, and fast cars! And I will do whatever it takes to achieve it. For my future, I'm planning to take on STEM for my se...

Pride of the Ilocano culture

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival. It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province. On the opening day, there is usually a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. It is followed by a procession of the Patron Saints of the 40 parishes and images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around the city. It is the Ilocanos' way of giving thanks to the Almighty not only for the bountiful blessings but also for the rich heritage of the city, including the close family ties among the Ilocanos. This event showcases the deep-rooted religiosity of the...

New chapter

We must all change the way we think and act. I am responsible for the way I think and act. It would be tomfoolery to place the responsibility of my transformation in character, in the hands of another. Maturity starts when we own our mistakes and take the necessary action of correcting them. Change however does not occur in isolation. One person’s transformation is sustained by another’s. We are fully interdependent and we need each other. It is I who must begin.  Once I begin, once I try  here and now,  right where I am,  not excusing myself  by saying things  would be easier elsewhere,  without grand speeches and  ostentatious gestures,  but all the more persistently  to live in harmony with the “voice of Being,” as I  understand it within myself   as soon as I begin that,  I suddenly discover,  to my surprise, that  I am neither the only one,  nor the first,  nor the most importan...

Expect progress, not perfection.

I t’s the new year. Time to turn the page and start fresh. Never mind that half the people who make new year’s resolutions abandon them within six months. Make this the year you reach your goals by looking at RESOLUTIONS in a new way: Reflect on the changes you will need to make to reach the goals you have for this NEW YEAR. It is true that “if nothing changes, nothing changes.” So, as you turn the page on this calendar year, set your mind on one or two lifestyle habits that you may want to approach differently for the next 365 days. Go ahead. Try that low-fat milk. Take an apple to work for an afternoon snack instead of grabbing a candy bar. Order a salad instead of cream soup at a restaurant. Each step along the way will get you closer to your preferred destination. Every day of your life is a new beginning, not just the first day of the year. You can make Daily Resolutions, not just New Year Resolutions. Any day is suitable for making them.Regard every day as the beginning of ...

Live every day as if it is a festival

The Vigan City Fiesta is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint. Before his conversion, St. Paul was known as Saul, a zealous persecutor of Christians. After he was touched by a personal encounter with Jesus Christ on his way to Damascus, his name was changed to Paul and he endured a lot of hardships and danger to spread the word of God to far places. In this chapter, Rizal described the fiesta as overly grande. There was too much unnecessary stuff. Too much food, too much decoration. Rizal teaches us that gatherings are not about how extravagant they are,  FIESTA  is about family and friends sharing time together. I related this chapter on how we must celebrate the Vigan Fiesta. We don't need to go out our way and present overly lavish food for our guests. Sure it is an act of hospitality, but we must not give the things that we cannot afford to have. We must learn to alwa...

All i want for Christmas is you

Everyone wants Christmas to be meaningful. Christmas is definitely the season for gifts and shopping. During Christmas, a lot of people go to malls to buy various gifts to be given to their friends and loved ones. God does not expect us to do great things this Christmas. We only need to do things with great love. Kindness. This is what God's gift to mankind. He gave us conscience and sympathy to… I guess with the current recession, this Advent Consipracy Movement is apt for us. It goes by the line ”Love All, Spend Less, Give More.” The true essence of Christmas relies not on the gifts which commands you to spend more but on the love and unity that each one of us should build. Spend less on gifts and more on relationships! http://www.backpacka.com/images/poems/christmas.jpg

Improving its state.

Environmental awareness is the advocacy of the delicateness of protecting the natural environment and learning how to conserve and help improving its state. Many times people do not realize what type of effect they have on the environment in their everyday life. However even with the smallest changes a person makes in their daily routine can make a big impact on the way the environment is going to be. People who push to make the changes for the environment are called activist or environmentalists because they go above and beyond to try and make a change either in fighting or teaching others on what type of impact the human race has made on the world. The world is a beautiful place filled with great wonders, filled with immense wildlife, with peculiar plants and forestry, with wonderful oceans, and most importantly and yet the most beautiful thing, human beings. However, human beings have caused immense damage to the earth through many years of environmental abuse and exploitation o...

3rd quarter reflection

Third Grading Period is a tough one. But I'm glad that I surpassed all those obstacles that I encountered and I'm very happy because I learned so much and experienced many unforgettable moments that I will bring for the rest of my life. Moving on, I will use those struggles as my inspiration and motivation to keep on going. I was able to overcome these challenges and problems that I en countered by putting God first in whatever I do, asking my family and friends advices and my classmates help when there are topics that I find it difficult to understand, and I'm very grateful because they are willing to help me out. With God and having the people that motivates me, I overcome these obstacles. This quarter gave me mixed emotion, I've come to realized and learned that not all things will stay the way they should be. Just like the saying that people come and go, I learned that you just have to live at the happy moments you have with the people who is always there fo...

Violence

Violence against women (VAW) appears as one of the country’s pervasive social problems.one in five Filipino women age 15-49 has experienced physical violence since age 15. It is indeed alarming that despite efforts to address the concern, VAWC persists. Women are also put to blame as the cause of their own misery. In the home, some women are accused of being “naggers” or neglectful of their duties as wife that is why they are beaten by their spouses. Rape is sometimes attributed to a raped woman’s “flirtatious” ways. Violence against women and children is a serious public health concern, with costs at multiple levels of society. Although violence is a threat to everyone, women and children are particularly susceptible to victimization because they often have fewer rights or lack appropriate means of protection. In some societies certain types of violence are deemed socially or legally acceptable, thereby contributing further to the risk to women and children. https://e...

Prospe and peaceful

United Nations is an international organizationestablished on 24 October 1945 after the world war. The purpose behind its establishment is to prevent further warfare, to make this world prosper and peaceful. United Nations Day is celebrated every year on 24th of October. It was decided in 1971 to highlight the aims and Goal of United Nations Organization. All countries and the United Nations too, should remember the actual purpose. The promise of work for the poor and innocent should be revived. Many parts of the world are still the victim of terrorists, hunger and illiteracy at the same time. United Nations and the member countries need to work honestly on their agenda. If United Nations and its members keep working on the purposed track, the world will be free of hunger and terrorism soon. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fp7.hiclipart.com%2Fpreview%2F780%2F1008%2F873%2Funited-nations-office-at-nairobi-united-nations-general-assembly-secretary-general-o...
